Dharmrajeshwar

Category Religious

Dharmarajeshwar is located in Garoth tehsil, 106 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
This is an ancient temple built in the fifth and sixth century. This temple has been constructed by cutting stones. This temple has similarity with the heritage sites built by cutting rocks in Ellora, Maharashtra. Initially it was a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It was later rebuilt as a Shiva temple. As a result, the Garbhagraha also houses a Shivalinga along with the Harihara symbol. Mahashivratri is the primary festival celebrated at Dharmarajeshwar.
